Hello, my name is Doris Kohler. This is my 25th year at FCS. I coordinate the Piano program at FCS, which includes lessons, recitals and the annual ACSI Piano Festival. My training includes a variety of musical styles, from jazz to classical, to church and worship music. In addition to teaching at Foothill, my experience includes accompanist for churches and choirs throughout the local area as well as teaching at Gards Music in Glendora. I received my BA Degree in Music Education from Azusa Pacific University in 1986. At Foothill, I teach the Transitional Kindergarten through 8th grade students, although I teach all ages, including adults. I also accompany the FCS Selah Choir. I incorporate interactive music games and music-related computer programs into my piano instruction for the younger students. I have always had a love for music, piano and singing. I love children and always knew I would do something with my life as far as music and children. I feel I can minister to children the best through music.
