ABOUT FOOTHILL'S SUMMER PROGRAMS

Foothill Christian’s summer programming is just around the corner! Mark your calendars for the arrival of camp on May 28, 2024.

Adventure Camp:

This year’s camp will have a "Great Outdoors” theme complete with sports, games and competitions for all ages. Our early elementary students will focus on the National Parks and our 4th - 8th graders will get to test their “Survivor” skills in the hunt for gifts and prizes to find out who the last person standing will be!

Bridge Academy:

Our teachers will be serving up our summer academic offering, Bridge Academy, designed to help students bridge the gap between Spring and Fall of the upcoming school year. Maintaining excellence in Math and English will be the emphasis.

Other Programs:

And as always our outstanding Art, Theater, Orchestra and Instrumental Music departments will be offering instruction and enrichment throughout the summer. Also, Basketball Camp will be returning with former professional player, Kristen McCarthy!

Registration will open on Tuesday, March 26th at 5:00 PM.

About Adventure Camp

Our 11 week camp is designed for all students entering 1st grade through entering 8th grade during the upcoming 2024-25 school year. Join us for the entire summer or sign-up for just the weeks you need!

This summer our campers get to learn and experience nature as we tour our nation's National Parks! From Sequoia to Yosemite and all the way to Haleakala in Hawaii our summer campers will take part in engaging activities and crafts designed to peak their interest in the great outdoors!

In addition to touring our nation's parks, our 4th through 8th grade campers will get to test their “Survivor” skills in the hunt for gifts and prizes to find out who the last person standing will be! Following the “Survivor” theme, our Childcare team has put together a series of games, competitions and team building activities designed to keep campers challenged and engaged for the entirety of our 11 week summer camp!

There will be plenty of fun, on campus activities along with weekly field trips that will include destinations such as Carbon Canyon Regional Park, the Long Beach Aquarium, Glen Oaks Top Tracer Golf…and we’ll be hitting the shores of one of our great California beaches…just to name a few!

In keeping with the foundation of who we are, Bible based spiritual enrichment will play an important part in the Adventure Camp experience. Our Childcare team will be hosting weekly Chapels that include age appropriate Biblical teaching and musical worship.

We have a veteran group of caring and well regarded camp leaders who each bring integrity along with their unique gifts to summer camp, making our Foothill Christian Adventure camp one of the most popular camps in the community.

Weekly Schedule & Cost

11-Week Summer Program

Sign up for just the weeks you need! Weekly costs are $275, with the exception of July 4th week (slightly lower) and the last week for 4th - 8th (slightly higher for Knott's Berry Farm).

FIELD TRIP INFO:

The cost of each week includes the field trip. If your child chooses not to attend a field trip there is no stay-back option, you will have to arrange childcare elsewhere for that day.

1st - 3rd grade field trips are scheduled for Thursday of each week, with the exception of Week 3.

4th - 8th grade field trips are scheduled for Tuesday of each week, with the exception of the Angel Game on Wednesday, June 26th.

The summer t-shirt must be worn on every field trip day!

Foothill's Studio Art Classes, open to students entering 1st - 8th grade.

This 4-week session will be comprised of 11-12 studio classes. Students will have the opportunity to create in a range of mediums.

At the end of the session, your student will have a portfolio to share with family and friends. Student work will also be featured at a gallery show at the end of their camp session.

Theater Description

Foothill's award winning drama department is holding a summer musical theater workshop, open to students age 10 - 18.

In two short weeks, students will prepare (acting, singing, dancing) for the final production of Matilda Jr. Every student will perform in the ensemble, and because this is an ensemble musical, the kids will all be on stage for almost every scene. They will cast as either the ‘young kids’ or the ‘big kids’, both equally featured.

Performances on Friday, June 28th @ 7pm and Saturday June 29th @ 2pm. Call time for these performances will be earlier. Tickets will be sold to the final performances.

Auditions will be held for title characters. Auditions are only required for students that wish to have a solo or a large speaking role. Audition details will go out after registration in complete. All others will be placed during the first day of camp. Audition dates: Tuesday, May 14th 3-7pm and Wed, May 15th 3-7pm. Sign-up form will go out after registration.

$425 incudes script and costume.

Basketball Description

Foothill's summer basketball clinic will be headed up by former Temple University and professional women's basketball player Kristen McCarthy assisted by Mr Darryl Wright (FCS girls varsity basketball Assistant Coach).

With a focus on developing solid fundamentals, our basketball camp is a great resource for anyone who is looking to improve their fundamentals and learn what it takes to become a better basketball player.
