Aimee Knight is the strings and orchestra director at Foothill Christian School where she has been on faculty since 2009. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in music with a concentration in violin and vocal performance from Colorado College in Colorado Springs, Colorado and her Masters in Music Education (M.M.Ed) from Azusa Pacific University. Aimee is also the founder and artistic director of the Foothill Christian Legacy Youth Orchestra and has a private violin studio at Gards Music in Glendora. Her other interests include leading worship at Saddleback Church, musical theater, dance, figure skating, and teaching Zumba® Fitness classes. Aimee believes strongly in the value of a Christ-centered education and is blessed to be able to educate and minister to children through music and worship.
Doris Kohler has been teaching at Foothill for over 25 years. She is piano program coordinator, which includes teaching lessons for students TK - 8th grade, organizing recitals and preparing the students for the annual ACSI Piano Festival. Her training includes a variety of musical styles, from jazz to classical, to church and worship music. In addition to teaching at Foothill, her experience includes accompanist for churches and choirs throughout the local area as well as teaching at Gards Music in Glendora. She received her BA Degree in Music Education from Azusa Pacific University in 1986. She loves to incorporate interactive music games and music-related computer programs into her piano instruction for the younger students. She has always had a love for music and a love for children, so she finds this position extremely fulfilling. She says, "I feel I can minister to children the best through music."
Jennifer Robinson has been teaching and producing shows at FCS for the past 15 years. Some of her favorite productions include Seussical, Beauty and the Beast, Shrek, Aladdin, You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, and Godspell. Jennifer received her Liberal Studies degree and teaching credential from Azusa Pacific University. While attending APU she traveled with the University Choir and Orchestra, playing the flute and singing. She is continually attending classes and workshops for acting, directing and musical theatre including workshops in New York instructed by world renowned director on Broadway and five time Tony Award winner, Susan Stroman. She is an active member of CITA (Christians In Theatre Arts). Her hobbies include music, basketball, hiking and attending the theatre.
Jonathan Rowden teaches band to elementary and junior high students at Foothill. He is a saxophonist, composer and producer who was named, in 2016 by the industry-defining Downbeat Magazine, "a name to watch as a signature voice on the Los Angeles jazz scene" and described by LA Music Blog as "a musical juggernaut" - Rowden's unique voice and penchant for combining driving, melodic-minded composition with free improvisation creates page-turning musical soundscapes. Rowden is a former adjunct professor of music at MTSAC (Mount San Antonio Community College) and is currently an adjunct at CBU (California Baptist University) in Riverside, California and Cerritos College in Norwalk, CA.
Alexandra Strauss is the 2nd - 8th grade art teacher at Foothill Christian School. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Art from USC’s Roski School of Fine Art. Alexandra is experienced in various art mediums and methods, including watercolor, pencil, acrylic and oil paints, pastels, charcoal, ink, print-making, sculpture, photography, and some video work. She loves being able to equip young artists and teach them the skills they need to succeed, all while having lots of fun! She believes that all students have the ability to be creative because they were made in the image of the Creator God!
Music Teacher & Choir Director
Danielle Titus is the music teacher and choir director for K - 8 students. Educated in Christian schools K-12, Danielle believes strongly in the foundation and level of excellence Christian education provides. She received her B.M. in Piano Performance from Missouri State University and her M.M. in Piano Performance from New York University (Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development). In addition to rigorous classical piano training, Danielle has over 15 years of choral experience, as well as orchestral experience in harp and bassoon. She also serves at HRock Church in Pasadena as the Keyboard Director and teaches piano lessons privately.
