As of March 14, 2022

Hello FCP Families,

We wanted to inform you about a few changes we are now implementing at the preschool.

First, with Covid becoming less prevalent, the CDC and LA County Dept. of Public Health (as of March 11th), has made wearing masks a strong recommendation instead of a mandate. Mask wearing will be optional for students, parents or FCP employees starting today (3/14). The domestic travel policy for non-vaccinated students remains the same. Unvaccinated students and adults must quarantine for 5 full days. They should be tested on day 3-5 and if negative return to school on Day 6, as long as they remain asymptomatic.

We will continue to make sure students and staff are consistently washing their hands and that classroom furniture and cots are disinfected regularly. It will remain our policy to send students home if they are showing any illness symptoms, and asking for students to be tested for Covid if they have a fever, before returning to school.

These past two years we have kept the children in cohorts completely separated from other classrooms inside and outside. Starting this week we will open up the yard area during recess for the children to play in all available areas.

We are also allowing parents into the school for drop-off and pick-up. It's imperative that you sign your child in or out in the front office before stepping further into the school.

Parents should drop-off or pick-up their child at the classroom door. Classes begin promptly at 8:30am.

For extended afternoon pick-up (between 3:30pm - 4:30pm) the children will be playing outside. During that time, there will be one check-out door at the end of the West hallway near the playground/patio exit. Parents will enter the facility and check-out their children via Brightwheel in the front office (this is state law!). They should then proceed down the left hallway to the back patio door, and wait there, while their child is paged and brought to you. Once your child is brought to you, please walk your child to their classroom to pick up their backpacks. Backpacks will be left outside their classroom door.

Parents should drop-off their child at the classroom or on the yard (weather permitting). Classes begin after flag salute and prayer at 8:30am

We are so grateful to be back to more normal routines while being as safe as possible.
I want to remind all of us that God is still in control of His world and still in control of you and me. He is not surprised, upset or wringing his hands in heaven. He knows the beginning from the end. He is with us when all is well and he even walks with us through the valley of the shadow of death. He will never leave us nor forsake us. He is our refuge and strength. A very present help in times of trouble. Therefore, we will not fear!
